About the position

Turtle is seeking a Junior Buyer to support the New York/New Jersey region. This entry-level position involves expediting purchase orders, managing order information, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service. The role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to source and place purchase orders
  • Manage information within the ERP system concerning back-orders and expected ship dates
  • Proactively communicate with the sales team regarding open orders and back-order dates
  • Assist buyers with assigned current projects
  • Procure assigned items as required
  • Support inventory management process

Requirements

  • BA/BS preferred, not required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to be a self-starter and organize/prioritize work
  • Ability to work both onsite and offsite as required
  • Prior experience in distribution preferred, especially electrical purchasing
  • Understanding of procurement in a distribution environment is a plus
  • Willingness to learn
