About the position
Turtle is seeking a Junior Buyer to support the New York/New Jersey region. This entry-level position involves expediting purchase orders, managing order information, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service. The role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both onsite and remote work.
Responsibilities
- Learn to source and place purchase orders
- Manage information within the ERP system concerning back-orders and expected ship dates
- Proactively communicate with the sales team regarding open orders and back-order dates
- Assist buyers with assigned current projects
- Procure assigned items as required
- Support inventory management process
Requirements
- BA/BS preferred, not required
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to be a self-starter and organize/prioritize work
- Ability to work both onsite and offsite as required
- Prior experience in distribution preferred, especially electrical purchasing
- Understanding of procurement in a distribution environment is a plus
- Willingness to learn
