About the position

The Key Carrier/Closing Manager at Lee's MarketPlace is a leadership role responsible for overseeing store operations during closing hours. This position involves managing various departments, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to multitask, and committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store, overseeing all functions in the absence of department managers and store directors.
  • Develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Promote a high level of morale within the department and store through open communication.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment, supporting a culture based on relationships and continuous improvement.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and directives, referring to the Team Member Handbook as needed.
  • Promote a harassment-free environment and report any harmful situations to management.
  • Strive to build knowledge and skills through training and education for self and team members.
  • Attend departmental, store, and company meetings as required, contributing to profits and meeting productivity standards.
  • Coordinate with the Grocery Manager and Store Director to oversee daily store operations.
  • Delegate tasks to employees within the grocery department and other departments as needed.
  • Ensure completion of tasks as instructed by management, including scheduling and personnel management.
  • Assist management in achieving quarterly financial goals related to inventory control and labor percentage.
  • Safely store all money and documents nightly, maintaining professionalism in customer interactions.
  • Provide solutions for customer complaints while adhering to company policies.
  • Understand the physical facility of the store and handle emergency situations appropriately.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
  • High School diploma or GED or related job experience and/or training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including writing, speaking, and understanding spoken words.
