About the position
The Landfill Gas & Liquids Technician position at Chiquita Canyon Landfill involves maintaining and repairing landfill gas systems, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations. The role requires physical labor and the ability to work in various weather conditions, contributing to the overall management of landfill gas and liquids.
Responsibilities
- Clean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables
- Assemble new parts on existing pumps
- Check, monitor, and clean gas wells
- Read and keep track of gas well data
- Operate small pieces of equipment such as backhoe
- Work with team and contract employees
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Equipment operating experience is preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
