About the position

The Laundry Attendant at Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg is responsible for managing all laundry services for the hotel, ensuring that linens and towels are cleaned, pressed, and folded according to the hotel's standards. This role involves collecting laundry from guest rooms, operating laundry machines, and maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize laundry needs and manage workflow effectively.
• Retrieve folded linens and stack clean linens appropriately.
• Sort clean towels, rugs, and robes for distribution.
• Assist in loading and unloading dryers and sorting washed laundry items.
• Operate and maintain washers and dryers, ensuring the laundry chute is kept empty.
• Report any technical problems or deficiencies to the Housekeeping Manager or maintenance team.
• Place folded products on the appropriate rack for storage.
• Assist in monthly and quarterly inventories of laundry supplies.
• Attend all departmental training sessions as scheduled by the manager.
• Assist with other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the manager.
• Follow safety guidelines for the use of chemicals and dryer lint maintenance.

Requirements

• Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to reach, kneel, and bend.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
