About the position

As a Lead Technician, you will oversee a team of technicians, ensuring that all technical tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your primary goal is to maintain smooth technical operations and provide exceptional service to clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues. Effective communication with team members and other departments is essential to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of technicians to ensure all technical tasks are completed on time and to a high standard
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to problems
• Maintain and repair technical equipment as needed
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless technical operation
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve tractor and occasional trailer related problems
• Accurately complete necessary company paperwork such as repair orders and indirect labor forms
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM's) on tractor and trailer equipment as assigned
• Properly categorize repairs according to current company standards
• Accurately record parts and supplies used in performing repairs
• Document complaints, causes, and corrections of component failures
• Assist other mechanics as needed
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or ensure proper functioning
• Maintain a high level of productivity and work within standard repair times

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in a technical role
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 1-3 years of diesel engine repair experience
• 1-3 years of mechanical knowledge
• Proficiency in and ability to obtain certificates for DOT Inspection and Air Brakes repair
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and their drivers
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and apply initiative
• Must provide own hand tools adequate to perform job functions
• Positive attitude, safety conscious, and self-motivated
