About the position

The Learning and Development Coordinator at CoreCivic plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing learning activities within an institutional setting. This position is dedicated to ensuring compliance with policies and standards while fostering a positive learning environment. The coordinator will supervise instructors and students, conduct training sessions, and assist in identifying development needs to enhance the quality of education provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision and direction of all students, instructors, and learning activities.
  • Supervise and/or conduct learning and development sessions.
  • Assist in identifying individual and facility development needs.
  • Supervise instructors in delivering approved lesson plan content.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to ensure quality of instruction.
  • Conduct learning and development sessions as needed.
  • Establish and maintain student records and rosters.
  • Evaluate student comprehension of learning objectives and offer career guidance.
  • Provide performance evaluation feedback and suggest development activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual learning and development plan.
  • Maintain compliance with established schedules for attendance, instructor assignments, and training resources.
  • Support the establishment of a positive learning culture and ensure safety during sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of experience in a criminal justice field.
  • Experience in training, classroom instruction, or curriculum development preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications or similar software required.
  • Knowledge of learning management platforms preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
