About the position

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our dynamic law firm client located in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. This position is hybrid, requiring five days in the office to start, transitioning to two days onsite after the initial period. The Legal Recruiting Assistant will play a crucial role in planning and implementing recruiting initiatives, which include preparing recruiting reports, setting up interviews and travel for prospective new hires, and organizing outreach events for students. The assistant will also work closely with the Human Resources department to coordinate orientation schedules for new hires. In addition to these responsibilities, the Legal Recruiting Assistant will provide administrative support to the recruiting team, manage the firm’s internal database of candidates, coordinate interviews, and draft candidate correspondence and offer letters. A significant part of the role involves organizing and managing the summer associate program, which includes planning events such as Mock Trials and summer social activities, assisting with staffing and assignments for summer associates, and coordinating the attorney mentorship program. The assistant will also be responsible for communicating with top law schools to secure on-campus interview (OCI) dates and facilitate the OCI process, ensuring timely and professional correspondence with potential candidates, law schools, and vendors while helping to coordinate and execute morale events in the LA office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing recruiting initiatives, including preparing recruiting reports and setting up interviews.
  • Manage travel arrangements for prospective new hires and organize outreach events for students.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the recruiting team, including managing the internal database of candidates and coordinating interviews.
  • Draft candidate correspondence and offer letters.
  • Organize and manage the summer associate program, including planning events and coordinating attorney mentorship programs.
  • Communicate with top law schools to secure on-campus interview dates and facilitate the OCI process.
  • Ensure timely and professional correspondence with potential candidates, law schools, and vendors.
  • Help coordinate and execute morale events in the LA office.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional office experience, preferably in law firm recruiting, hospitality, human resources, or event planning.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Outstanding communication, organization, leadership, and people skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines independently.
