About the position

The Loan Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the Loan Administration and Loan Servicing teams at First Community Bank. This role ensures the accurate and timely servicing of the bank's loan portfolio, compliance with state and federal regulations, and the smooth operation of department activities. The manager provides leadership, training, and supervision to staff while maintaining high levels of customer service and relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Loan Administration and Loan Servicing teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely servicing of the bank's loan portfolio.
  • Oversee the production of loan documentation for opening, servicing, and closing of loans.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and bank policies.
  • Provide leadership, training, and supervision within the department.
  • Monitor staff in loan documentation preparation and quality control.
  • Implement cost controls and monitor departmental expenses.
  • Review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist Loan Officers and other bank personnel with loan-related inquiries.
  • Participate in internal committees as assigned by senior management.
  • Gather data and prepare reports for senior management and audits.
  • Conduct staff training and development activities.
  • Perform personnel actions including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with security precautions to protect customer loans and bank assets.
  • Process complex customer transactions and inquiries.
  • Develop and write lending procedures and assist with implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience in loan administration and servicing.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation and compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced computer skills including internet operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics report writing software.
  • Familiarity with Laser Pro platform administration.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry core processing systems.
