About the position
The Machine Operator - Syrup Batcher position at PepsiCo Beverages North America involves operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. The role includes responsibilities such as handling raw materials, performing quality checks, and conducting minor repairs on machinery. The operator will work primarily during evening shifts and may be required to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production line(s) to ensure efficiency.
- Remove or shift materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper flow.
- Ensure package and product quality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Clean equipment and area before, during, and after shift.
- Maintain a clean work area through good housekeeping practices.
- Expedite repairs to the production line, working with maintenance as necessary.
- Keep daily records of downtime and machine operations.
- Work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Understand and safely operate the High Shear / High Speed mixer while batching in a timely manner.
- Set up outgoing concentrate shipments and receive concentrate.
- Perform weekly concentrate inventory and PQI duties.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Experience with high-speed production lines.
- Experience with pallets, including operating a forklift.
- Experience operating a packing machine.
- Experience operating a filler machine.
- Experience operating a palletizer.
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
- Experience reading production schedules.
- Experience with computers in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with sanitization and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Experience with minor mechanical repairs.
- Experience with preventative maintenance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing context.
