About the position

The Maintenance Laborer is responsible for landscaping and maintaining the grounds of properties using various power tools and equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks including sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both the public and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Landscape or maintain the grounds of property using power tools or equipment.
• Perform tasks such as sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and fertilizing plants.
• Install pine straw/mulch, dig, and rake as needed.
• Check high-priority areas daily for debris, weeds, or unsightly items.
• Fully fuel up all equipment at the end of each workday.
• Check equipment for safety and maintenance before use.
• Mow using various types of mowers including zero turn and push mowers.
• Use string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and chainsaws as required.
• Properly apply fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals.
• Complete work in a timely and efficient manner, leaving jobsites clean and safe.
• Assist and contribute regularly on projects as needed by management.
• Adhere to the company's safety policy.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent desired.
• Previous experience in outside construction, landscape, or similar field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in operating a locator, wiring and re-wiring irrigation clocks, and programming decoders.
