About the position

The Maintenance Manager at Pelican Products, Inc. is responsible for implementing long-term strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance activities across the plant. This role focuses on reliability, asset management, preventive maintenance programs, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager will lead a team, oversee maintenance planning, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Implement long-term strategies for maintenance activities and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in maintenance and project work.
  • Lead and coach PFMEA and DFMEA processes to minimize business risk.
  • Oversee maintenance planning and scheduling systems for efficient work schedules.
  • Consult on Maintenance team organization and required skills for maintenance excellence.
  • Manage annual budget and provide cost analyses and projections.
  • Establish processes for facility-wide continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Drive a proactive data-focused reliability culture in partnership with operations leaders.
  • Assist leadership in prioritizing maintenance spending and capital expenditures.
  • Manage improvements in MRO stores and optimize critical spare parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience in a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of effective maintenance systems and large maintenance organization management.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMMS structures and practices.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and TPM environments.
  • Strong FMEA and Root Cause Analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SAP Maintenance Management.
  • Experience with advanced maintenance approaches such as TPM or Condition-Based Maintenance.
