About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, building, overhauling, and troubleshooting various types of machines and equipment within the facility. This role also includes performing facility maintenance as needed, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Review maintenance work orders and P.M.'s and projects assigned daily to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Analyze recurring problems with machinery and equipment and develop permanent repair solutions and cost reduction strategies.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance as scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Look up repair parts via prints, spreadsheets, catalogs, or online, and discuss with vendors to obtain quotes for requisition forms.
  • Provide own tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Work on mechanical drive systems such as belts, pulleys, speed reducers, roller chains, sprockets, shafts, and bearings, primarily on conveyor systems and tables.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical components and systems.
  • Operate lift trucks, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties in the maintenance work area and any area where repairs are made on the plant floor.
  • Perform facility/building maintenance and repair projects as needed in a timely manner.
  • Follow all rules, policies, and procedures outlined in the company handbook.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and components, including 480-volts 3 phase, 220-volt single phase, 110 single phase, and 24-volt AC and DC control voltage.
  • Replace failed electrical components as needed.
  • Identify and repair failed hydraulic components in hydraulic systems.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical components and systems.
  • Ability to operate lift trucks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in maintenance or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
