About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Southwest Equity Partners is responsible for maintaining the luxurious appearance of multi-family properties while providing excellent customer service. This role involves executing resident service requests and performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the properties are in optimal condition. The technician must work autonomously, adhere to health and safety guidelines, and maintain a positive attitude while representing the company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of property maintenance, including preventative, corrective, deferred, and emergency maintenance under the supervision of the Maintenance Director.
  • General maintenance knowledge in electrical, drywall, plumbing, custodial, and carpentry work as necessary.
  • Appliance repair experience.
  • Ensure exterior curb appeal of community and cleanliness of grounds.
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.).
  • Ensure that residents are provided with a clean, safe, well-maintained community.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure that maintenance requests are handled as quickly, efficiently, and effectively as possible.
  • Have knowledge of location of gas, electric, and water shutoffs, all apartment and fixture shutoffs.
  • Assist in performing apartment move-in and move-out inspections as directed by the Maintenance Director, Director of Resident Services, and property managers.
  • Know current condition/status of all vacant units.
  • Recommend measures to improve methods of operations, performance, safety, and quality of service to supervisors.
  • Perform on-call emergency service as required.
  • Represent Southwest Equity Partners and the community in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive businesslike attitude and neat and clean attire and appropriate grooming.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Possess and practice exceptional safety skills when on the job.
  • Appliance repair experience.
  • 2+ years hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, painting, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience in property management in a maintenance technician role is preferred.
