About the position

The Maintenance Technician role in Wheeling, IL, is a full-time position focused on the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems related to the manufacturing of medical devices. The technician will work primarily during standard business hours, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installs equipment and processes related to the manufacturing of medical devices using sketches, drawings, and prints.
  • Maintains and cleans systems and equipment as required.
  • Performs water treatment and monitors discharge of waste to the sewer system, documenting activities for compliance.
  • Performs minor and major repairs to the building, systems, and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and boiler systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Maintains mechanical and electrical systems related to industrial machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical control circuits for motors and production equipment.
  • Reads and understands diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, and other materials used in maintenance.
  • Works with precision tools such as veneer calipers, micrometers, and laser alignment tooling.
  • Fabricates basic parts using hand tools and power machine tools like drill presses and lathes.
  • Troubleshoots PLC systems and performs software changes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with Injection Molding machines preferred.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical control circuits for motors and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience with PLC systems and ability to diagnose and repair PLC machines/systems.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Experience with testing, calibrating, and repairing a wide variety of instrumentation.
