About the position
The Maintenance Technician position at EnerSys is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of industrial equipment used in the production of lead-acid batteries. This role involves conducting preventative maintenance, repairing machinery, and installing HVAC systems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant operations. The technician must demonstrate skill mastery across multiple maintenance functions and work collaboratively within the manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance on production machinery and process support equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components of machinery.
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, and air conditioning systems.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work teams.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and repair manuals as necessary.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by following stock protocols and placing order requests.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean working environment.
- Perform emergency repairs and advise on equipment upkeep and replacement needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as an industrial electromechanical technician.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HVAC technician.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with PLCs and an Industrial Maintenance degree preferred.
