About the position

The Manager, Academic Support (Events) at Walden University plays a crucial role in enhancing the student and faculty experience through the planning and execution of various engagement events. This position involves collaboration with university leadership and academic support staff to develop strategies for unique student experiences and foster a sense of belonging. The Manager will oversee event logistics, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to university policies while working in a hybrid environment that values innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes event logistics and communications for group travel to academic events in the United States.
  • Develops event budgets and partners with Adtalem Events to schedule and service contracts.
  • Collaborates with university leadership and stakeholders to plan event logistics.
  • Monitors execution and provides event support as required.
  • Organizes, plans, and delivers engaging virtual synchronous and asynchronous events.
  • Collaborates with university leadership, deans, and other stakeholders to formulate consistent university-wide approaches for academic initiatives and events.
  • Manages and oversees event builds in various platforms as well as event marketing and communications.
  • Reviews, develops, and administers procedures, policies, and infrastructure support related to strategic plans.
  • Monitors adherence to university policies and seeks to improve operations and practices.
  • Gathers and analyzes data relating to academic activities and assessments for dashboards and reports on event performance.
  • Supervises colleagues within the Academic Affairs Team.
  • Travels to support university academic events and accommodates evening and weekend event support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Proven experience and success in planning and executing digital and in-person events.
  • Demonstrated success in event and/or project management and knowledge of industry tools like Certain, On24, Zoom, Teams, Excel, and other Microsoft platforms.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  • Willingness to mentor, lead, prioritize work projects, and creatively problem-solve across teams.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, collaboration, team building, and human relation skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
