About the position

The Manufacturing Equipment Technician role at MACOM involves performing repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities on semiconductor fabrication equipment. This position is crucial for ensuring the proper operation and maximum uptime of various processing equipment in a clean room environment, supporting both production and engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all aspects of operation, repair, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, adjustments, rebuilding, and modifications to ensure proper operation and maximum uptime of processing equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Assist Engineering in commissioning new fabrication equipment.
  • Use various test and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems.
  • Maintain necessary records, reports, and parts inventory, including reordering parts.
  • Lead or assist in the investigation and resolution of equipment-related process problems.
  • Proactively drive safe practices within the factory and support site safety policies.
  • Work in a clean room environment wearing clean room garments.
  • Independently learn and manage time by prioritizing tasks according to production needs.
  • Communicate day-to-day events, direction, and repairs both written and verbally through logs and passdowns.
  • Excel in a changing environment while working cooperatively with others to meet common goals and objectives.
  • Positively influence and support others to succeed in their roles.
  • Travel for external training as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in semiconductor fab repair and maintenance.
  • Technical education preferred in electronics and/or mechanics, which may be offset by experience.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize issues according to production needs.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and work in awkward positions as necessary.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for up to 8 hours.
  • Experience handling toxic and reactive chemicals and gases common to the semiconductor industry.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, along with keyboard and computer skills.
