About the position

The Materials Management Specialist (Depot) plays a crucial role in overseeing the flow of materials within the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific's C4I Restoration Depot. This position is responsible for coordinating with purchasing staff and production shops to ensure the availability and management of materials necessary for the repair, overhaul, restoration, and manufacturing processes that support the US Navy Fleet. The specialist will implement and manage Operating Material and Supplies (OM&S) capabilities, ensuring compliance with financial and audit readiness requirements while optimizing inventory management and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the flow of materials within the Depot.
  • Coordinate with purchasing staff and production shops to maintain materials for production processes.
  • Support the implementation of Operating Material and Supplies (OM&S) capabilities.
  • Ensure procurement, inventory management, and reporting of Depot OM&S in the Navy ERP System.
  • Streamline processes for storing and issuing materials to improve customer service.
  • Minimize material on-hand while maximizing redistribution to meet Fleet requirements.
  • Implement a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system for parts inventory tracking.
  • Ensure proper care and packaging of supplies in storage.
  • Report lost, damaged, or destroyed property promptly.
  • Meet Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) requirements for OM&S management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of recent C4I or relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience in tracking and auditing inventories.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with diverse personalities in various environments.
  • High School education.
