About the position

The Mechatronics and Robotics Apprentice position is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of mechatronics and robotics. As an apprentice, you will learn to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electronic, mechanical, and automation systems within a Fulfilment/Distribution Center. This role combines classroom learning with practical on-the-job training, emphasizing safety and teamwork while working under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Follow work processes closely to ensure a safe environment while job shadowing with technical advisors.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment both in school and on the job.
• Work with technical documentation and computer systems in both educational and practical settings.
• Learn to operate material transfer conveyors under the guidance of experienced technical advisors.
• Identify, locate, and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems and components, learning to remove, replace, and adjust parts as necessary.
• Gain experience with PLCs and collaborate with Automation Engineers in a laboratory setting.
• Work with robotic systems and engage with Robotics Engineers and OEMs in real-world applications.
• Perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance on mechatronic systems to ensure operational efficiency.
• Analyze technical specifications of mechatronic systems and coordinate with other technicians for installation and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet the minimum qualifying score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
• Ability to travel to training sites in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, or Texas for 12 weeks.
• Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and internet browsing.
