About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at PCC Medical Holdings LLC involves performing administrative and clinical duties to support healthcare providers in delivering optimal patient care. This role is essential in ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed during their visits, while also managing various tasks related to patient care and office operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of clinical experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification or higher (EMT, RN, LPN).
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, EMR software applications, and applicable medical codes.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Creole is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Escorting patients to exam rooms and notifying the provider when the patient is ready.
  • Ensuring all lab and diagnostic test results are in the chart prior to appointment.
  • Ensuring all exam rooms are appropriately stocked and clean.
  • Conducting initial patient interactions including reason for visit/symptoms, obtaining vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, temperature, etc.
  • Verifying all current medications, contact information, and medical allergies.
  • Preparing patients for examinations.
  • Assisting the provider during examinations.
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
  • Instructing patients about medications and special diets.
  • Preparing and administering medications including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections as directed by the physician or other licensed provider.
  • Administering EKG, nebulizer treatments, and assisting the provider with other procedures/tasks.
  • Transmitting prescription refills as directed.
  • Performing phlebotomy.
  • Inventorying and ordering medical, lab, and/or office supplies.
  • Following up on diagnostics, medications, blood results, etc.
  • Providing wound care.
  • Using computer applications to update and file patient medical records.
