Responsibilities

• Promptly answering a high-volume of billing calls
• Accurately posting and filing billing charges to insurance companies
• Ensuring that all patient claims are submitted to payers in a timely and accurate manner
• Posting incoming remittance advice from insurance into patient financials
• Disputing any claims that have been paid incorrectly
• Keeping track of insurance claims and following up on any unresolved claims
• Processing payments by mail or incoming calls
• Communicating with the office manager about any problem claims or insurance companies

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be a team player
• Excellent customer service skills with outstanding phone and written and verbal communication skills
• Positive and upbeat personality
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and medical terminology preferred
• General knowledge of healthcare insurance and terminology preferred
• Professional and mature demeanor with a presentable appearance
• Excellent organizational abilities
• Previous experience with EMR/EHR preferred
• 1 year of customer service experience (preferred)
• 1 year of medical terminology experience
• 1 year of computer skills
• 1 year of medical coding experience
• Knowledge and experience with all commercial carriers including Medicare
