About the position
The Medical Screener - Reception Technician is responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. This role involves assisting qualified donors in completing the screening process, performing health screenings, and educating new donors about the donation process and related information.
Responsibilities
- Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures.
- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with SOPs.
- Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature checks.
- Conduct finger stick tests to obtain samples for hematocrit and total protein levels.
- Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
- Answer donor questions accurately and professionally.
- Register applicants and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Ensure a clean and efficient work environment with sufficient operating supplies.
- Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
