About the position

Radiance Technologies is seeking a Senior Air Operations Modeling and Simulation Developer to enhance aerospace modeling and simulation capabilities for the US Air Force, Space Force, and Department of Defense. This role involves developing digital models and frameworks for aircraft, weapons, sensors, and communications systems, contributing to the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) simulation. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to translate customer requirements into effective modeling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop digital models and frameworks for aerospace systems.
  • Enhance air operations and air combat operations capabilities within AFSIM.
  • Interact with customers to analyze and translate requirements into modeling solutions.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and scientists.
  • Utilize agile development processes for software development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in C++, C#, Python, or Java development.
  • Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, or Gitlab.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for mentoring and developing young engineers and scientists.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Experience with integrated development environments (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, etc.).
  • Experience following agile development processes.
  • Experience in modeling military systems.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and refining physics-based models in simulation frameworks.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • M&S experience related to air platforms, propulsion systems, flight dynamics and controls, sensor systems, communication devices, and related areas.
  • Experience developing novel model frameworks and tools to enhance kinematic and C4 & cognitive simulation.
  • Experience using modeling and simulation tools.
  • Experience in designing and developing MS&A visualization tools and enhancements.
  • Experience with SysML and Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Experience using AFSIM.
  • Experience conducting quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with Air Force operations and practices.
  • Familiarity with DoD security practices.
