About the position

The Nursing - Caregiver position at Cascadia Senior Living involves providing personalized care to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, maintaining residents' skin integrity, and ensuring the safety and comfort of residents while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure that individualized care plans are followed.
• Provide specific information, changes, and observations of residents' needs to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Attend to individual needs of residents including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and toileting.
• Maintain residents' skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers and skin damage.
• Protect personal belongings of residents and report missing items promptly.
• Perform tasks assigned by the Director of Nursing Services, including vital signs and specimen collection.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records in accordance with department policies.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Follow standard precautions and safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions.
• Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR card.
• Maintain current Food Handlers card.
• Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in long-term care settings.
• Additional certifications in caregiving or nursing assistance.
