About the position

The Nursing Technician plays a vital role in supporting Registered Nurses by observing and documenting patient conditions, assisting with daily living tasks, and ensuring patient safety. This position focuses on enhancing patient recovery through mobility support and personal care, while also maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and document patient conditions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with daily living tasks, including meals and personal care.
  • Support progressive mobility to aid in patient recovery.
  • Assess patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge patients according to the plan of care.
  • Assist with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose and recording vital signs.
  • Help maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment.
  • Ensure fall-risk patients have appropriate safety measures in place.
  • Document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use.
  • Respond promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and share patient observations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR.
  • Nurse Aide Certification is required.
  • BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
