About the position

The Occupational Health Nurse Manager at Sysco Riverside is responsible for establishing and leading the planning, directing, administering, and evaluating of Occupational Health Services. This role aims to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by collaborating with various departments to support Sysco's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) goals.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage an onsite health service clinic.
  • Research, plan, and produce annual budgetary projections for supplies, equipment, and professional services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations and OSHA rules.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA mandated programs and record-keeping standards.
  • Supervise the Drug Testing Program and perform Breath Alcohol testing.
  • Plan and implement training programs for managers and associates on various Occupational Health topics.
  • Execute clinical services and direct nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.
  • Participate as a first responder to onsite accidents/injuries and oversee the Medical Emergency Response Team.
  • Practice case management for work-related injuries and coordinate healthcare services.
  • Compile and submit injury and accident reports required by corporate and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the occupational injury program and collaborate with external healthcare providers.
  • Develop and implement health and wellness promotion programs for associates.
  • Participate in the facility's Safety Committee and manage the health components of the onsite Fitness Center.
  • Prepare reports and maintain associate health files in a confidential manner.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an occupational health role.
  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Workers' Compensation laws and regulations in the state of practice.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Practice.
  • ABOHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S).
  • Certification in Case Management by ABOHN or CCMC.
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification.
  • DOT Drug Screen Collector Certification.
  • Breath Alcohol Technician Certification.
