About the position

The Oral Surgery Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow in the dental practice. This position involves a combination of clinical assistance, patient education, and administrative tasks, all aimed at providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to dentists during procedures including preparation and documentation.
• Educate patients on their treatment plans and maintain their oral health.
• Provide excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists, including charting and operatory set-up and clean-up.
• Take dental radiographs/x-rays when prescribed along with all other dental assisting tasks.
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills when performing clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and managing patient records.
• Handle financial information, perform insurance verification, and prepare end-of-day reports with quality control.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills to connect with team members and patients in a friendly manner.
• Maintain electronic records of patient interactions, prepare estimates, and collect/post payments.

Requirements

• 1 year of dental assisting experience (preferred).
• Dependable and skilled in quality control when handling financial information.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
