About the position

We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Paralegal will be to support our Workers' Compensation Defense team to provide high-quality legal services. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys, clients, and legal staff to assist in the preparation, management, and organization of legal documents and cases. This role is crucial in ensuring that all legal processes are handled efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the legal team. In this position, you will assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs. You will manage case files and maintain case calendars to ensure timely deadlines are met. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information to support attorneys in case preparation will also be part of your responsibilities. You will communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to obtain necessary information and documentation, as well as prepare and organize medical records, summaries, and reports as necessary. Additionally, you will draft and analyze legal documents and assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness files, and coordinating logistics. Administrative tasks such as organizing files, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments will also be part of your daily activities. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal in Workers' Compensation Defense is required.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices, including legal research and writing.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
  • Case Management and preparing Medical Summaries.
  • Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
