About the position
The Paraprofessional position at Ambridge Area School District is designed to support teachers and students in enhancing the educational experience within the classroom. The role involves assisting in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), providing support to students with emotional or behavioral concerns, and collaborating with various professionals to ensure a comprehensive educational approach.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the education and social development of students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Implement Individualized Education Plans for students and monitor their progress.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate their participation in activities.
- Collaborate with professionals such as speech therapists, social workers, and occupational and physical therapists.
- Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and help them develop appropriate social skills.
- Document and maintain service logs for student rosters in the Pennsylvania School-Based ACCESS program.
- Fulfill other duties and tasks assigned by teachers and supervisors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum two years of experience in a related field
- Act 34/151/114/126/168 Clearances/Certifications required
