About the position

The Parts Processor role at Shields Manufacturing involves preparing parts or subassemblies for the production process in a fast-paced environment. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to perform various tasks including machining, assembly, and packaging while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manually remove machining imperfections from parts using blending, polishing, and edge break techniques.
• Perform processing steps such as graining, hardware installation, masking, deburring, and cleaning.
• Prepare chemical process solutions and baths for pre-treating and cleaning of parts.
• Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications.
• Ensure adherence to standard procedures in tool setup, operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
• Operate hand and air tools for parts processing and forklift as required.
• Maintain organized documentation including certifications, work orders, and process sheets.
• Ensure a safe work environment by observing and correcting employee practices as necessary.
• Adhere to quality standards in parts processing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic math or industrial mathematics skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Ability to set up and use various measuring devices.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a machining environment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and personal protective equipment.
