About the position

The Patient Access Representative I (PAR I) at Kenosha Community Health Center is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and creating a welcoming environment for patients. This role involves scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. The PAR I collaborates with clinical staff and assists patients in accessing necessary services, all while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care and service during each patient visit.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments according to guidelines.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information during check-in.
• Initiate the full registration process for new patients.
• Coordinate patient transportation assistance and connect patients to wrap-around services.
• Direct incoming calls to appropriate staff and take accurate messages.
• Inform patients of balances owed and collect payments for services provided.
• Check-in patients via the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for scheduled services or walk-ins.
• Review and reconcile end-of-day batch reports with on-hand cash.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Six to twelve months of related experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Prior experience with using an Electronic Health Record preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions from management.
• Effective communication skills with patients and employees.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to communicate in Spanish (oral and written) preferred.
