About the position

The Patient Care Coordinator at OnPoint Family Medicine is responsible for ensuring a smooth patient experience in the front office of the medical clinic. This role involves greeting patients, managing phone calls, verifying insurance, and facilitating patient visits through established protocols. The coordinator plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and maintaining the organization of the front office.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming patients in person or over the phone in a friendly and professional manner.
• Complete pre-visit planning including contacting patients for updated insurance and verifying insurance details.
• Register new patients and verify existing patient information.
• Collect co-pays and payments when needed.
• Answer inbound calls to schedule patients and act as a liaison to clinical staff for patient inquiries.
• Complete administrative duties to ensure smooth patient visits and timely billing processing.
• Make outbound calls to patients to schedule appointments.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance.
• Follow instructions and respond to management direction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
• Strong computer skills required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a business office or clinical environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
• Customer service experience.
• Current CPR card.
• Bilingual skills.
• EMR experience, preferably with Athenahealth practice management system.
