About the position

The Patient Services Scheduler will play a crucial role in a busy Ophthalmic healthcare organization by managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring proper authorization for services. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Answer patient calls and schedule appointments using EPIC.
  • Facilitate new patient registration and update patient demographics.
  • Verify and obtain authorizations for services.
  • Make reminder calls for upcoming appointments.
  • Verify all insurances.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Patient Service Representative or in a Medical Front Office role.
  • Knowledge of health insurance types including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medi-Cal.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
  • Ability to use good judgment in patient interactions.
  • Strong reliability and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated longevity in customer service roles.
