About the position

The Payroll/HR Specialist is responsible for managing payroll processing and HRIS payroll-related data, along with various administrative HR responsibilities. This role involves ensuring data integrity while processing multiple payrolls and requires a strong background in Paycom's HRIS system, particularly in payroll processing, as well as knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process multi-state bi-weekly payrolls for multiple companies accurately and timely using Paycom.
  • Process off-cycle payrolls and manual checks such as bonus payments and mid-cycle terminations.
  • Maintain and review payroll records for accuracy.
  • Review and enter time card records prior to payroll as needed.
  • Enter onboarding and off-boarding details accurately, confirming completeness, compliance, and reasonableness.
  • Submit background check requests for new hires.
  • Track pre-employment processes for multiple companies.
  • Enter pay and title changes with appropriate effective dates, ensuring changes are captured on payroll.
  • Provide payroll information and reports to other departments as necessary.
  • Input and maintain data in Paycom systems.
  • Set up and maintain PTO accrual balances.
  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations with benefit carriers.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with additional projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Review/Audit HRIS data entry.
  • Balance federal/state quarterly and annual reports including W2 Forms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience processing multiple payrolls.
  • Knowledgeable with regard to FLSA and EEOC guidelines.
  • Proficiency with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing taxation, payment, and reporting of wages.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
