About the position

The Payroll Manager at MMC Group will oversee payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and payroll tax regulations. This role involves managing a team of specialists and collaborating closely with Human Resources and external auditors. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site work two to three days a week in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees.
• Process all payroll changes including new hires, deductions, terminations, and stock-based compensation income.
• Manage U.S. Weekly and U.S. / Canadian Bi-Weekly Payroll.
• Handle correspondence with third-party payroll processors such as Strada and Activpayroll.
• Ensure proper handling of withholdings and prepare payroll tax filings.
• Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll-related matters.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) internal control documentation.
• Work with external auditors for year-end financial statement audits and other compliance audits.
• Participate in the preparation of cash forecasts for payroll and benefits.
• Assist with specific projects and initiatives as required.

Requirements

• 7+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably with a public company in a multi-state environment.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Experience with Workday is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
