About the position

The PCB Technician (Starlink) position at SpaceX involves working in a hands-on manufacturing environment focused on the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the Starlink project. The role is critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of products that will provide high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity globally. Technicians will have ownership of specific process areas and will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop and validate new equipment and processes. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards in manufacturing output and yield, while also adhering to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Execute startup and shutdown procedures for production equipment
  • Monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems for PCB manufacturing
  • Perform first level troubleshooting and work with maintenance and engineering teams
  • Provide feedback on failure modes and support engineering to drive root cause of yield limiters
  • Train production personnel
  • Work with engineers and technicians to create operating procedures
  • Track and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Perform dispositions and rework for nonconforming PCBs
  • Maintain inventory of consumables
  • Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical documents
  • Ensure 5S standards are upheld by maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of experience working in a hands-on technical position or an associate degree in a STEM field
  • Experience using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electrochemical processes
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using production and inventory management software such as MES/ERP
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and maintain priorities for tasks and projects
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities in a high-paced environment
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-600, IPC-6012 or equivalent
