About the position

The Pharmacy Technician Instructor is responsible for planning, teaching, and supervising student learning experiences in various settings, including the classroom, skills lab, and clinical areas. This part-time role requires effective communication and the ability to serve as a professional role model for students, while also maintaining records of student progress and performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the total curriculum as assigned by the direct supervisor.
• Teach and supervise student learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical areas.
• Identify individual and collective learning needs of assigned students.
• Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and grades.
• Prepare, administer, and grade written and practical examinations.
• Devise and implement written lesson plans through various teaching methods.
• Discuss students' concerns related to their learning experiences.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the Program Director or designee.
• Assist students in developing an understanding of values and attitudes appropriate to the health care profession.
• Participate in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.

Requirements

• 2 years' experience in the pharmacy field.
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
• Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Minimum Pharmacy Technician License by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• 2-5 years of retail pharmacy experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
• Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
