About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee at Giant Eagle, you will play a vital role in our pharmacy team, focusing on building strong relationships with patients and providing exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring compliance with regulations, all while contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Model excellent patient care by engaging with patients and meeting their needs, including processing orders and directing them to products.
• Maintain a clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use pharmacy computer systems to maximize efficiency and provide optimal patient care.
• Assist in improving outcomes using knowledge of service and business metrics.
• Execute company initiatives and programs effectively.
• Complete required training programs and exams.
• Follow all company, state, and federal policies, including HIPAA regulations.
• Finalize sales using the cash register according to established procedures.
• Transcribe data from prescriptions accurately to generate custom labels.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs and supplies.
• Answer telephone inquiries politely and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns effectively.
• File written prescriptions daily.

Requirements

• 0 to 6 months of experience in a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years of age.
