About the position

The Primary Care Physician at STG International will provide outpatient medical services to enrolled patients of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). This role involves supervising the clinic's daily medical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and promoting quality patient care through leadership and collaboration with clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and preventative medical care to patients.
  • Function as the point of entry into the Veteran's Administration health care system.
  • Participate in the orientation of clinical staff including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to existing clinical methods and procedures.
  • Assist in implementing Quality Performance Improvement Team (QPIT) strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement, care management, and clinical outcomes activities.
  • Manage medical care including mental screenings and medication adjustments.
  • Promote continuity and quality of care through ongoing relationships with veteran enrollees.
  • Document patient information in the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient care.

Requirements

  • Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, or board eligible within four years of residency completion.
  • Current and unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Experience with opioid medications for chronic pain management.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited organization.
  • Knowledge of pharmacological agents and their effects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records systems.
