About the position

The Power BI Developer will support the creation of new metrics and reports databases, automate work processes, and ensure data accuracy for visualizations. This role involves writing code, analyzing data, and contributing to Business Intelligence software and Data Warehouse Solutions, all while fostering a collaborative environment and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain metrics database and reports.
  • Extrapolate data patterns through advanced algorithms; develop graphs and charts to explain mathematical information.
  • Utilize Agile Methodology for coding assignments and code reviews.
  • Apply emerging software to address organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with Business and T&E colleagues.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and consensus-building skills.
  • Multi-task and contribute to projects in various stages of development.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Perform tasks with high accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, set priorities, and take initiative.
  • Represent the client's Fed brand to external audiences.
  • Handle difficult situations with poise and good judgment.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, information systems, or related fields.
  • Seven to ten years of relevant experience in programming, systems administration, technical analytical systems, data engineering, or software testing.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI and some experience in Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little direction.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Jira, PowerBI, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10-15 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence development.
  • Previous experience supporting DoD or Federal government health agencies.
  • CDMP, CISSP, Software Engineering Master Certification (SEMC) or other relevant certification.
  • Military or veteran hiring preference.
  • Preferred work location within the DC Metropolitan Area.
