About the position

The Premium Payables Analyst is responsible for managing a large book of payable carriers, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining professional relationships with assigned carriers. This role involves analyzing accounts payable reports, resolving discrepancies, and coordinating with account executives and finance teams to ensure accurate billing and reconciliation. The analyst will also participate in team meetings and contribute to achieving departmental goals while maintaining a professional image and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a large book of payable carriers.
  • Generate payments to assigned carriers in a timely manner.
  • Manage carrier statements and invoices.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with assigned carriers.
  • Resolve discrepancies between EPIC and carriers in a timely manner.
  • Analyze AP reports daily for carrier payments and clear zero rec items.
  • Identify old unpaid items and notify Account Executive.
  • Identify credit items that should be settled with assigned carriers.
  • Review payments made during the prior day against the Bank Report sent by the AR Team.
  • Coordinate with AR on the application of RP payments sent by carriers.
  • Maintain carrier vendor contact and banking information.
  • Refer problems to the Manager during huddles or immediately if urgent.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with Account Executives.
  • Provide payment history to carriers as requested.
  • Coordinate with Manager & Finance to resolve bank reconciliation items.
  • Follow established workflow on NOC and Advanced Items.
  • Communicate with the AE and track items pending NOC.
  • Participate in morning huddles and provide updates on pending items.
  • Request new ACH/Wire templates for new carriers as needed.
  • Work toward achieving team and individual goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Insurance Premium payables experience required (Brokerage is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including advanced Excel skills (VLookups are a must, Pivot Tables are a plus).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both with and without direct supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
