About the position

The Preschool Assistant Education Director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the school, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves implementing curriculum guidelines, overseeing staff training, and promoting the growth and development of children in a safe and nurturing environment. The director will also engage in marketing efforts to attract families and manage the financial performance of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the school in compliance with licensing agencies.
  • Implement curriculum guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children.
  • Ensure compliance with state-mandated teacher-child ratios and regulations.
  • Oversee staff training and maintain required training hours.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish career plans for staff.
  • Coordinate monthly staff meetings and authorize time off requests.
  • Maintain facility maintenance schedules and ensure cleanliness of the school.
  • Engage with prospective families and conduct tours to increase enrollment.
  • Manage financial performance, including tuition collection and payroll reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • State Certification and 2+ years of group teacher experience for children under 6 years old.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate Degree in any field preferred.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare facility is a plus.
