About the position

The Principal Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in the Global Operations Finance team at Waters Corporation, focusing on accounting, analysis, and reporting to support various functions including Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement. This hybrid position will report directly to the Finance Manager of Global Supply Chain and serve as the primary contact for the VP of Global Procurement, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Enable and ensure profitable and cash-strong growth of the company by collaborating with Operations and Finance teams.
• Act as the main point of contact for the VP of Global Procurement, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Provide in-depth Purchase Price Variance (PPV) financial analysis for Global Procurement Projects.
• Own the Annual Operating plan, monthly close, and forecasting process for the Global Procurement organization.
• Develop and maintain relationships between Global Operations, Waters Division Finance teams, and business partners in Operations.
• Analyze and summarize monthly management reports with business-critical insights for Corporate FP&A and executive leadership.
• Assess current financial processes and define improvement plans for continuous enhancement.
• Perform tactical accounting close duties including journal entries, capital and inventory accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and maintain SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Act as a liaison for Internal and External audits, providing necessary support.
• Develop and document work instructions and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• 5 to 6+ years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a global manufacturing organization.
• Cost accounting experience is a plus.
• MBA or CPA is a plus.
