About the position

The Principal Program Manager - Design at Micron Technology is responsible for overseeing the design development of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products from the planning stage through to tapeout. This role involves ensuring that design targets such as schedule, quality, manufacturing readiness, and budget are met, while actively participating in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process. The position requires strong leadership and project management skills to drive the Design Development Team (DDT) and manage risks and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish a ProChain-like schedule for project management.
  • Supervise the project plan and ensure timely execution.
  • Set up and advise the Design Development Team (DDT) with regular meetings to monitor progress.
  • Identify and make timely decisions on project-related issues.
  • Manage ongoing risks and change requests effectively.
  • Drive the project through to final layer tapeout and hand-off to the Product Development Team (PDT).
  • Report weekly program status to leadership and coordinate work reviews.
  • Lead lessons learned workshops to promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in program management with a focus on sophisticated development projects.
  • Engineering background in the semiconductor industry, particularly in memory product development.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of semiconductor product/program development/management experience.
  • Knowledge of DRAM operation, especially with the HBM product family.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
