About the position

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of materials to support business activities while adhering to company policies and ethical standards. This role involves analyzing procurement problems, developing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements. The specialist will work closely with various internal teams and external vendors to optimize procurement strategies and maintain a competitive edge in pricing and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the procurement of materials in accordance with company policies and ethical standards.
  • Act as an internal interface with various departments including PMT, Engineering, and Accounting.
  • Procure materials with an understanding of requisition requirements and international standards.
  • Assist in establishing appropriate procurement strategies for different materials.
  • Visit vendors to understand their capabilities and new products.
  • Develop and maintain a sound vendor base and survey the market for new supply sources.
  • Evaluate and monitor vendor performance continuously.
  • Facilitate the Supplier Registration Process in the MDR system.
  • Perform the RFQ process, including reviewing requisitions and issuing RFQs to vendors.
  • Coordinate the vendor clarification process and perform commercial bid evaluations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of procurement data and place purchase orders with selected vendors.
  • Provide ongoing Purchase Order administration and maintain purchase order files.
  • Assist in resolving delivery nonconformance issues and support the bid pricing process.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and coordinate activities of assigned personnel.

Requirements

  • Engineering graduate
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience
  • Broad knowledge of the procurement process
  • Effective communication skills for commercial solutions
  • Support Integrated Procurement worldwide
  • Understanding of local and regional logistics regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Experience in Smart Plant Materials and HR Systems
  • Certificates in process improvement and/or Six Sigma are a plus.
