About the position

The Product Manager, Technical at T-Mobile plays a crucial role in bridging business and technology, acting as a strategist, analyst, and advocate for customers. This position is responsible for leading teams through the Release Management, Delivery, and Engineering (RMDE) practices, ensuring successful project execution, risk management, and continuous improvement in product delivery. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a focus on innovation and agile methodologies to enhance product quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multi-functional project teams to ensure successful testing, defect management, release planning, and implementation.
  • Facilitate activities for smooth adoption of RMDE practices, including training and communication.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, compliance issues, and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide transparent and actionable status information to leadership through various reporting methods.
  • Continuously evaluate RMDE practices for opportunities in innovation, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct analysis to identify product innovation opportunities and root causes of issues.
  • Work with stakeholders to secure and maintain product funding.
  • Anticipate industry trends and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with PM and Dev leaders to design effective Agile delivery teams.
  • Manage existing production defects and prioritize resolutions in the backlog.
  • Assist with the overall execution of the software development process from strategy to deployment.
  • Communicate technical challenges and make educated trade-off decisions with the team.
  • Accountable for product quality and performance in the production environment.
  • Develop adoption tools and training materials for the Technical Product Management team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on technical writing, production code, solution engineering, or technical architecture experience in a large-scale environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment.
  • Validated experience in product management, including strategy development, roadmap planning, and project management.
  • Understanding of business processes across various functional areas such as finance, sales, and marketing.
  • Excellent customer management skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Solid project management skills with experience leading multi-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in change management principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills for gathering and analyzing requirements and making data-driven decisions.
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, for explaining complex concepts to non-technical partners.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
