About the position

The Production Manager for the 2nd Shift at Northwest Frozen is responsible for overseeing production operations during the weekend shift, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are consistently met. This role involves optimizing production processes, managing staff, and collaborating across departments to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets by forecasting and monitoring customer demand.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise production Team Leads and staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to maintain optimal stock levels in collaboration with the Logistics & Inventory team.
  • Establish and lead essential Production KPIs to continuously monitor and improve the performance of the production process.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to control expenses without compromising quality or safety.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety regulations, and production protocols.
  • Lead efforts to create a positive and proactive safety culture, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Communicate production goals, updates, and performance to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
  • Proven work experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in implementing and using production management software and tools, with experience in Redzone being a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience in safety regulations and compliance to maintain a culture of safety.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within food manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with production management software beyond Redzone.
