About the position

The Project Controls Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing project control processes within a reputable organization in the construction and project management industry. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid work environment and is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to a dynamic team while working on impactful projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices against staffing plans for 10-20 subcontractors per invoice.
• Ensure invoices are compliant with contract terms and conditions, including pay structures, overtime, travel and entertainment, and per diem.
• Identify and track errors in invoices, calculating discrepancies and ensuring timely notifications (within a 5-day turnaround).
• Work closely with construction teams to validate on-site personnel and timesheet data.
• Develop spreadsheets to track invoice errors, credits, and corrections, ensuring contractors address discrepancies.
• Organize and track new staffing plans.
• Coordinate with the Project Controller to review reports, errors, credits, and other project details.
• Gain a thorough understanding of project budgets, sub-budgets, and the controls surrounding them.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and company policies.
• Prepare presentations for management updates and project discussions.

Requirements

• Previous experience in project controls or accounting, preferably within construction or project management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management (spreadsheet development and error tracking).
• Ability to review and reconcile invoices with attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of contract terms, invoicing practices, and budget controls.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, self-managed environment.
