About the position

The Project Manager at Heartland Acoustics & Interiors is responsible for executing project management and business development tasks, ensuring that installation activities are planned, organized, monitored, and coordinated effectively. This role involves managing multiple projects to meet specifications, schedules, and budgets, while also reviewing and negotiating contracts and change orders. The ideal candidate will work independently, support a diverse team, and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Estimator to ensure project scopes and values are understood during handoffs.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of new project awards to determine scope, quantities, and budget.
  • Identify estimating errors and create adjustments to reconcile budget.
  • Oversee Project Assistants during the job setup process.
  • Create, manage, and approve all job-related purchase orders.
  • Oversee and manage all job-related activities including contracts, budgets, proposals, and change orders.
  • Manage submittals and shop drawings.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to interact with clients and field crews, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Prepare for meetings with all necessary information ahead of time.
  • Review and monitor weekly job budget reports to identify and remedy project issues.
  • Assist Field Superintendents in tracking job materials and production.
  • Attend client and industry events to build relationships.

Requirements

  • Two years of project management or supervision experience in construction or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to guide and direct a Project Assistant effectively.
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction terms and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project management experience in ceilings, drywall, flooring, or specialties.
  • Field experience in construction.
  • Experience with On Center On-Screen Takeoff software or similar.
  • College degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
