This is an exciting opportunity to join a top interior design studio in their Communications Department. The role is for approximately four months but has the potential to become permanent. The firm is seeking a mid-level Communications Specialist to join their collaborative team, where roles and responsibilities are often shared. The ideal candidate will be involved in various aspects of public relations and communications, particularly within the architecture and interior design sectors. This position requires a proactive approach to managing press strategies, client coordination, and media relations, ensuring that the firm's projects receive the attention they deserve in the media. The role also involves assisting with conference presentations, maintaining team leader bios, and managing the development and content of the company website. The candidate will work closely with the PR team on project openings and will be responsible for social media scheduling and project postings. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about design and communication.

Responsibilities

• Draft quotes, interview responses, and talking points on behalf of principals.
• Manage various aspects of project press strategies, including client coordination, press requests, media lists, pitching, etc.
• Assist with conference presentations and prepare talking points.
• Maintain team leader bios and project opening updates.
• Work with the PR team on project opening gifts.
• Manage the development and content of the company website.
• Liaison with website agencies for maintenance and redesign.
• Create an outline and layout for the client newsletter.
• Work with the team on social media scheduling and project postings.
• Maintain product placement list and client database.

Requirements

• Experience in Public Relations / Communications in architecture or interior design.
• Relevant press contacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with social media management and content creation.
• Knowledge of website management and redesign.
